Ayurveda and infrared heat

Old knowledge combined with the best implementation.

The oldest, universal life and health teaching in the world is called Ayurveda.
The knowledge, which is about 5,000 years old, is still relevant today and is becoming increasingly relevant, because it involves all basic principles, all living things and the entire complexity of the universe.

The word "Ayurveda"- आयुर्वेद is derived from the ancient Indian Sanskrit language and literally means " life" (Ayus) and "knowledge" (Veda). The knowledge of (good) life.

Ayurveda sees the human being holistically and considers him as a complex being who lives in symbiosis with his inner and outer circumstances. Health (Svastha) in Ayurveda means the harmony of body, mind and soul.

"To preserve the health of the healthy and to alleviate the sickness of the sick-that is the aim of Ayurveda."
(Caraka Samhita, 700 B.C.)

The quotation from one of the most important Ayurvedic scriptures shows the great importance attached to prevention.

The health condition of a person is exposed to many interference fields and is therefore not a static but a dynamic condition. Body, mind and soul are inseparably connected with each other, they react sensitively and even condition each other, which is why a constant balance is needed. If the soul is well, if the person is in harmony with his actions and feelings, his body will feel relaxed, his mind is calm and peaceful.

If the body is ill, the spirit does not find peace, gloomy thoughts arise, the soul suffers. It is said that the very first responsibility that man has in his life is to his body. In Sanskrit, this is called svadharma (personal responsibility).

According to Ayurveda, the most important priority in life is life itself.

What does this mean for me?

Since the human being has an enormous inner power of self-healing, or self-regulation, but this needs our deepest attention, it is of great importance to support it regularly.

Ayurveda offers manual therapy for this purpose, in addition to nutritional theory, spatial theory, psychology, constitutional theory and some others.

The variety of treatment options of an Ayurvedic therapy helps the body in the process of eliminating ama (waste products), metabolic products, cell waste, toxins, toxic deposits and acids. However, the body cannot eliminate everything, but it can transform many things.

Accordingly, if the metabolism and self-healing are sufficiently stimulated, the body all by itself distributes the unwanted deposits in the system and brings the substances to the place where they can be metabolized (e.g. the liver).

In my practice, the Atmanjali Ayurveda Temple, in Dresden, we offer a variety of traditional Ayurvedic treatments, such as Abhyanga, a full body anointing with rich, warm, medicated oils.

And what does that have to do with an infrared cabin from Physiotherm?

The beneficial heat of an infrared cabin from Physiotherm causes the shrotas (body channels) to widen, optimizing the removal of unwanted substances via the blood vessels and lymph, while at the same time starting a good distribution of nutrients.
With sweating, the body eliminates through the opened pores through its largest organ, the skin, countless harmful substances that have been deposited directly in the fatty tissue.

The pleasant warmth also noticeably reduces stress and inner tension.

The increased supply of nutrients to the body and the regular elimination of the above-mentioned substances leads to a noticeable overall sense of well-being.

Since the heat in a Physiotherm infrared cabin enters the body in the area of the spine and not, as in the conventional sauna, or infrared heat cabin via the room air, the body tolerates the minimally higher temperature very well. The skin does not give an "alarm" of overheating to the brain, because the body itself distributes the temperature evenly from the inside to the outside at its own pace.

In Ayurveda, the healing effect of good heat (Agni) has been used for thousands of years.

This kind of gentle self-cleansing and self-regulation corresponds in its entirety to the basic Ayurvedic principle and is completely in the spirit of this ancient life and health teaching.
